Crescent Hill at Hitchcock Rebrand

Nestled in the heart of Iowa’s Loess Hills, Mt. Crescent Ski Area was evolving. Under Pottawattamie County’s new leadership, the 106-acre property was set to transform into an all-season recreation destination and to support this next chapter, the organization needed a new brand.

With a new name chosen, I helped lead a visual identity workshop with key decision makers from Pottawattamie County, Mt. Crescent and Hitchcock Nature Center to align everyone on the brand’s desired look and feel, setting clear expectations for the creative direction. Along with the logo, I designed a robust brand guide and brand assets to get their internal team set up for their future marketing needs.

Research and Brand Strategy:

  • Conducted research into regional competitors and national aspirational brands to identify trends, uncover key insights and provide opportunities for differentiation.

Naming and Logo:

  • Worked with copywriter to concept naming options for rebrand based on research and findings from discovery workshop.

  • Concepted and designed logo options based on findings from visual identity workshop.

Brand Assets:

  • Defined and designed robust brand guide outlining messaging, photo styling and brand element usage.

  • Designed multiple templates to demponstrate proper brand visuals and provide client starting assets for their internal team.
